“Where neighbours play”

McCormick Arena wishes to acknowledge this land on which the Arena operates has for thousands of years been the traditional land of the Huron-Wendat, the Seneca, and most recently, the Mississaugas of the Credit River. Today, this meeting place is still the home to many indigenous people from across Turtle Island and we are grateful to have the opportunity to work on this land.

Our History

McCormick Playground Arena (known more commonly as McCormick Arena) is a City of Toronto indoor ice arena that was established by Toronto By-Law No. 319-71. The building is named in honour of Mary McCormick, a wealthy Toronto resident who donated generously to the Toronto Playgrounds Association. Located in the southern area of Brockton Village near Parkdale, McCormick Arena operates year-round and has served the community since March 14, 1972.
